Christopher Richens

Christopher began his career in the high-tech industry, but with the industry’s downturn, he turned a hobby into a full-time passion. With a love for hands-on work and a keen eye for detail, Christopher thrives in the renovation business. When he’s not transforming spaces, he enjoys spending quality time with his children and keeping up with their various activities.

Michael Midali

Originally from the UK, Michael started his career traveling the world, meeting new people, and making friends wherever he went. His journey led him to meet his wife while working on a cruise ship. Together, they decided to settle down in Ottawa, where Michael transitioned his long-standing hobby into a thriving renovation career. In his free time, you’ll find Michael playing with his kids, enjoying a round of golf, or watching soccer.

We couldn’t be happier with Custom Spaces!!! Mike and Chris are exceptional to work with, always giving timely updates and asking questions along the way to ensure that we are happy with the end result. We worked with them to renovate our home from top to bottom!!! We started with the basement and loved their work so much that we ended up getting them to renovate the main floor with a brand new kitchen, floors throughout, trim including baseboards, paint and a new powder room! We also converted our carpeted stairs to hardwood and continued with hardwood throughout the 2nd level! It was just the refresh that our home needed and are so happy with it all!!!! They are trustworthy, honest and reliable with every project ending right on time!!!! We highly recommend Custom Spaces to anyone looking for a home refresh!

We contracted Custom Spaces Ottawa for a kitchen, ensuite and laundry room renovation and we are so happy we did. Mike and Chris are amazing! They were professional, reliable, respectful. The attention to detail and the quality of work is bar none. The sub-trades were amazing as well. Everything went according to plan, no hiccups – and when we were told that the electrician, plumbers, painters, drywallers, HVAC guys, etc were coming on such and such a day – they came! Mike and Chris have it together and we would have them help us again without question!

Mike and Chris renovated my ensuite and I could not be more pleased. From design through to finishing they were a wealth of knowledge and so professional. Many things were suggested that I would not have thought about. Cleaned up after themselves daily! Will definitely have them back for my basement.

Mike and Chris were fantastic to work with. We hired them to renovate our kitchen and we were very happy with their work. They were always on time, very professional and friendly. I also appreciated that they did not exceed their pricing estimates. When we had sub-contractors in to paint our kitchen cabinets, we were nervous about working with a different firm but Mike and Chris were great at following up and ensuring that the work was done to their standards.

Mike and Chris had great attention to detail. We are so happy with the finished project and are already planning our next one, as we will definitely hire them again
